HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL
The school Santa Joaquina de Vedruna Cartagena develops its educational work in the city since 1941.
To this end a religious community consisting of five sisters, who in November added two more in order to accomplish this task was created in September of that year.
Today and since 1942, the Shoe House is part of the school’s facilities of Santa Joaquina Vedruna Carmelitas Sisters of charity, who have erected new buildings for educational use in the yard of the farm.
Carmelitas is a big old school, has got two yards, with one soccer field, and also for playing baskettball, it also has a porter´s lodge where you can if you need something. It is very funny to play at halftime. In Carmelitas because teachers and students are very friendly.
In our school is always organized a campaign of collection of food, called Christmas campaign. It is a sign of solidarity with those in need of our Cartagena city.
In our school are carried out many activities after school, both sporting and cultural, it is worth highlighting:
Futsal, rhythmic gymnastics, basketball, handball, theatre, conferences… etc.
